Friday 25 April saw Mum, Harriet and I travel up to Runcorn for another athletics training session.  Some of the team were unwell so only a few of us made it.  My room mate Anne was suffering from a cold so I had a lonely room to myself.

Saturday we spent the day at the track training doing sprint and long jump exercises.

Earlier in the week my kit arrived – it now seems very real and not too far away.

On the 2nd October I joined the SOGB Athletics Squad for our second training session in Runcorn.

The weather had been very wet in the days before the training session but on the Saturday of training the weather was kind to us.  We practiced sprint starts, long jump and relay.

I learnt that I will be competeing in the 200m sprint (my favourite event), the long jump and the 4x100m relay.

While I was at training Mum, Dad and Will went sight seeing in Chester (again) – I think it was just an excuse to go shopping.

The squad will meet up again in March 2011.

Here I am at Core Cambridge’s gym with Harry my weight training coach.  I visit Core Cambridge once a week to do weight training and other exercises.

These exercises are to strengthen my core muscles.  These exercises help my power which will be good for my sprinting particularly my starts.  It’s hard work but will be worth while for my preparations for Mexico later this year and Athens next year.

On Friday 14 May 2010 I went to Runcorn to join the Special Olympics GB squad for a weekend training camp for the World Games in Athens 2011.

Arriving at the hotel.

I met the squad and the rest of the athletics team.  The girls in the team are Anne, Vicky and Hannah and our coaches names are Tony and Lesley.  I got measured for my GB kit and had a training session to improve my techniques at running and long jump.

While I was working hard Mum, Dad and Will walked around historic Chester.
